George Formby Returns to Wroxham
Legendary ukulele strumming entertainer George Formby loved Wroxham. His former summer house “Heronby” is on the river-front and his Broads cruiser “Lady Beryl 2” was built right here at the boat-yard. In the 1950’s he (and his legendary dominating manager/wife Beryl) also re-opened Roys Of Wroxham after a refurbishment.
Unique to Broads Tours, professional entertainer Sean Moyses (The Banjo Man) leads a massed group of ukulele strumming George Formby fans as we cruise along to George’s hits, including “Leaning On A Lamp-post”, “When I’m Cleaning Windows” and “Mr. Wu”. We shall be passing right by George’s former home on our river trip.
Everyone, especially ukulele players are welcome to join us. We simply want you to enjoy up-lifting, toe-tapping music and George’s timeless British humour. So come along with your little ukulele in your hand and join us for a unique Broads Tours cruise!
As George would famously say - “It’s Turned Out Nice Again!”
